One of the most affluent small towns in the country, Westlake, Texas is located just west of Dallas, between Keller, Southlake, and Trophy Club. Known for its celebrity residents and luxury lifestyle, the idyllic community also offers quality schools, large open spaces, and beautiful real estate. The land’s rolling fields and tall Post Oak trees lend it a peaceful, bucolic feel, while the town’s close proximity to Dallas-Fort Worth ensure residents have access to all the benefits of a major city.

Shopping and Dining

Westlake is primarily a community of residences and corporate offices, but is also home to several restaurants, including Weinberger’s Delicatessen. A Chicago-style deli, Weinberger’s, is known for its hot dogs, subs, salads, and sandwiches. Over on Village Circle, Diego’s Tex Mex Kitchen serves up tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and fajitas while La Scala/Joe’s Pizza offers piping-hot NY-style pizza and standard Italian fare. American cuisine meets alfresco dining at Cielo at Marriott Solana. Grocery stores and pharmacies, including Tom Thumb and Walgreens, are less than 10 minutes away in Trophy Club. Additional options for shopping, dining, and nighttime entertainment are available in nearby Grapevine and Southlake.

Parks and Recreation

A lush environment of brooks, trees, and open fields, Westlake real estate includes plenty of space for enjoying the outdoors. The 13.5-acre Glynwyck Park features three rustic bridges spanning across a babbling brook, a paved walking path, and 60-foot-tall shade trees. The Vaquero Club features an 18-hole, par 71 golf course designed by famed architect Tom Fazio. Members of the club also have access to a fitness center, day spa, kids club, fully stocked fishing lake, tennis center, and pool. A tiny community of approximately 1,000 residents, Westlake, Texas has been named the most affluent neighborhood in the country by Forbes magazine. In addition to streets filled with large ranch-style homes and major corporate offices, Westlake real estate includes two gated communities. Approximately 150 multi-million-dollar estates, complete with guesthouses, media rooms, and games rooms fill the 525-acre Vaquero community. Glenwyck Farms, Westlake’s other gated community, contains fewer than 100 homes. Built on wooded, one-acre lots, Glenwyck Farms is most known for its park-like setting. Median Westlake home price in 2012 was $1,295,100.
