Gaylord Texan Expansion is Now Open

The $120 million project offers a contemporary take on the existing design. It adds 303 guest rooms to the resort’s current 1,511 room inventory and increases the total number of resort guest rooms to 1,814. It also includes 86,000 square feet of meeting space, bringing Gaylord Texan’s total meeting space to approximately 490,000 square feet. Once complete, the resort will be the third largest non-gaming convention/meetings hotel in the nation, as measured by total self-contained exhibit and meeting space.

“This expansion illustrates Ryman Hospitality Properties’ confidence in group business demand within our brand,”  Senior Vice President Mike Stengel also said in a statement. “In addition to enhancing our Grapevine destination, the expansion has provided 450 construction jobs and several hundred permanent jobs for the local community.”

Also, on April 20, members of the Grapevine community were invited to a first look at the Vineyard Tower. There was a ribbon-cutting ceremony, brunch and tours of the hotel suites.

“We’ve come a long way with the Gaylord since we opened it a decade ago,” Grapevine Mayor William D. Tate said. “… It’s a great moment in our community. We’ve had a lot of great moments.”
